They work fine as range mags

With all of the bad things I hear about ProMag, I decided to buy 3 for range only use. When I got them, I noticed the follower didn't move smoothly (you could feel it binding). I gave them a light coat of gun grease and that helped. Also, the follower doesn't completely surround the spring. Instead, it is notched for the spring (one side open, the other side covers the spring) unlike the Ruger mags. The cartridge view holes do line up correctly, and they slide out every time the mag release is pressed. They also haven't caused me any feed issues. Because of the follower issues, I would not trust them for daily defensive carry but for the range, they work fine. No sense in buying Ruger mags for range use.
